1. What is this course about?
Korean Hand Acupuncture was developed by Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo in Korea in 1971.
KHA works on the body through correspondence points in the hand. Each hand has 14 meridians with 345 acu-points distributed along these meridians. By stimulating these points, it is believed that the physical body functions can be balanced and, to a degree, regulated.
KHA has 3 theories: a. Body Correspondence Theory
b. Jang-Bu Theory
c. 14 meridian Theory
KHA treatments use pellets, needles, moxa, or electronic beam depending on the
symptoms. Treatment takes from a minimum of 20 minutes up to 60 minutes, again
depending on symptoms and which instrument is used.
KHA is popular in Korea where more than 3 million Koreans have learnt KHA for
